Dermoscopy revealed a central homogenous skin‐colored to pale area with brown‐colored dots, globules, and an irregular double‐marginated track‐like border, most prominent around the 2 o’clock and 8 o’clock position. In some sections of this track, brown dots/globules coalesced to form a continuous brown‐colored line within the whitish rim [Figure 2]. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of porokeratosis [Figure 3]. A final diagnosis of porokeratosis of Mibelli was made. Dermoscopy of porokeratosis (PK) typically reveals central white area of scarring, red‐brown dots and globules, and vessels of different patterns. The dermoscopically diagnostic finding is the white peripheral border, often double‐marginated, representing coronoid lamella.[1] It has been metaphorically called “white track” or “lines of volcanic crater,” and “diamond necklace” on ultraviolet light dermoscopy. Minor differences have been reported in the

Linear porokeratosis: a case report
Porokeratosis is a rare genodermatosis based on chronic keratinization disorder histologically characterized by the presence of a cornoid lamella and various clinical manifestations. Five most commonly described types of poroketarosis are porokeratosis of Mibelli or ”classic” porokeratosis, disseminated superfi cial actinic porokeratosis, disseminated palmoplantar porokeratosis, linear porokera...
متن کاملPorokeratosis ptychotropica: a rare manifestation with typical histological exam*
Porokeratosis is a disorder of epidermal keratinization characterized clinically by a distinctive ridge-like border, and histologically by cornoid lamellae. The known clinical variants of porokeratosis are: classic porokeratosis of Mibelli, disseminated superficial (actinic) porokeratosis (DSAP), porokeratosis palmaris et plantaris disseminata, linear porokeratosis and punctate porokeratosis. I...
متن کاملPorokeratosis ptychotropica of the scrotum: dermoscopic evaluation of an atypical presentation*
Porokeratosis ptychotropica is a rare variant of porokeratosis that is classically located on the gluteal and perianal regions, seldom extending to the genitalia. The authors report an atypical presentation of porokeratosis ptychotropica and discuss the use of dermoscopy in evaluating this dermatosis. Dermoscopic findings, although not specific to this variant of porokeratosis, are helpful in t...
متن کاملPorokeratosis simulating Bowen’s disease on dermoscopy*
Porokeratosis is a disorder of epidermal keratinization characterized by the presence of annular hyperkeratotic plaques. Its etiopathogenesis is not yet fully understood, but a relationship with immunosuppression has been reported. Dermoscopic examination revealed a classic yellowish-white ring-like structure that resembled "volcanic crater contour" - the so-called cornoid lamella. We describe ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Four Patients with Porokeratosis of Mibelli
We describe the clinical and pathologic observation of four patients with Porokeratosis of Mibelli. Allof them were women. They had four different forms of disease: Plaque type, functate form, Linear form and superficial disseminated form. In histologic features we observed a new change in basement membrane of epidermis in two patients. This change composed of Liquefaction degeneration of basal...
